The Valley Yak
Clive was a boy who loved to hike. He lived in Nepal. One day, he went hiking in a deep, shadowy valley. "Look at the rocks!" he said, pointing to the steepest cliffs.
As he walked, he heard the loudest noise. "What was that?" he wondered.
It sounded like a loud, booming call. Clive felt a chill, and the air felt colder now.
Suddenly, Clive saw a yak. It was stronger and taller than any animal he had seen before. The yak looked at Clive and snorted.
Clive felt both scared and amazed. "I must be brave," he told himself. He took the deepest breath.
The yak stomped its feet. Clive stopped. He thought, "What should I do?" He remembered his mother's words: "Keep your distance. Keep calm and move slowly."
Clive nodded and started to hum a soft, musical tune. The yak's ears twitched, and it looked at him with soft eyes. "Good yak," Clive whispered.
He backed away slowly, and the yak stayed calm. He continued hiking, feeling the wind on his face.
The sky was brighter, and Clive smiled. When Clive got home, he eagerly told his mother about the yak.
She hugged him and said, "I am the proudest mom!"
