Pat hides by the gate. She sees a rope on the grass. She pokes it with a stick.

Jane rides by. "I see you, Pat!" Jane says.

Pat grins and jumps up. "Do you want to go to the lake?" she asks Jane. They skip to the lake.

The sun shines on the waves. Pat sees shapes in the clouds. "Look, a whale!" she yells.

As the sun sets, Pat and Jane skip home. "That was fun," says Pat.
