The Happiest Day at the Beach

Melissa the seagull lived by the seaside. She loved the sound of the waves and the smell of the salty wind.

One sunny morning, Melissa hurried across the sand, eager to explore.

She scurried on the sand to the bumpiest part of the shore. It was full of shells and little crabs.

Melissa spied a crab crawling into a hole and studied it. She continued on, eager to find more surprises.

Melissa spied her friend Kelly, a seal. Kelly hurried beside her. "What are you up to, Melissa?" Kelly asked.

"I am exploring the beach! Do you want to join me?" Melissa replied. "Sure!" Kelly smiled. They set off together. Kelly told Melissa jokes along the way, each funnier than the last.

As they waddled together, they discovered a patch of wild berries. Melissa picked some and gave them to Kelly. They were the sweetest berries she had ever tasted.

Suddenly, a boy cried out. His balloon had flown away in the wind. "My balloon!" the boy cried. Looking sad, he watched it float away.

Melissa hurried after it, flapping her wings against the wind. She quickly grabbed the balloon and flew back to the boy. She got it right before it floated out to sea. She felt like the luckiest seagull.

"Thank you, seagull!" the boy replied with a big smile, happier than before. Melissa felt proud and happy to help.

As the day began to fade, Melissa and Kelly watched the prettiest sunset fill the sky with orange and pink. Melissa felt happier than ever.
