Fun in the Woods
Emily the otter lived by the river. She loved to play and swim. One sunny day, Emily found a stick by the water. She picked it up with her paws.
"Look at this stick!" Emily called to her friends. The other otters, Piper and Bobble, came over to see. They all played with the stick, passing it back and forth.
After a while, Emily felt hungry. "Let's find some apples," she said. They swam to the apple tree near the park. The apples were red and ripe.
Emily and her friends picked some apples. They ate the apples happily. While they ate, they heard a buzz. There were some bees flying by.
"Let's be careful," said Piper. "We don't want to get stung." They watched the bees fly away. Then, Emily saw some bushes.
"Look, there might be more apples in those bushes," she said. They walked to the bushes and found more apples. They put the apples in a big bin.
"These will be a great snack for later," said Bobble. They took the bin back to their spot by the river. Emily felt happy and relaxed.
The river sparkled in the sunlight. Emily looked around and saw benches and tables where people sat. She loved her home by the river.
"Let's play some more," said Piper. They started to play tag. Emily was quick and fast. She ran around, trying to catch her friends.
Suddenly, they heard a noise. It was foxes by the bushes. The foxes looked curious. Emily and her friends watched the foxes for a bit.
The foxes watched the otters, too. Then, it slowly walked away. The girls were glad the fox left. Emily said, "That was fun!" They all laughed and kept playing.
As the sun began to set, Emily felt tired. "Let's go home," she said. They walked back to their homes, feeling happy and good.
Emily's mom met her at the door. "Did you have a good day?" she asked. "Yes, Mom," Emily said. "It was a wonderful day by the river."
Emily's mom brushed Emily's fur and helped her get ready for bed. Emily put on her dress and glasses. She went to bed with a smile. She dreamed of more fun with her friends.
