The Lost Mouse
Darrell the brown owl loved to perch on a tree branch and look at the valley below.
Darrell had excellent hearing and eye sight. One day he heard a high pitched squeaking.
"What is that?" Darrell wondered. He flew down to find the sound.
The crying got louder and Darrell found a little gray mouse.
"I can't find my house," said the mouse. Darrell thought for a bit. "I can help," he said.
"I can't find my house," said the mouse. Darrell thought for a bit. "I can help," he said.
"Follow me up to my tree." Darrell said. The mouse climbed up the tree, following Darrell.
From the tree, the mouse and Darrell could see far.
Darrell and the mouse saw some clouds and the valley down below.
"I don't see my house" cried the mouse. "Don't give up! Let's keep looking" Darrell said.
"Look!" said the mouse. "My house is near the farmhouse." Darrell and the mouse set out to find it.
