Sarah and the Yellowish Ball
Sarah the hawk sat in her tree. She loved her sunny tree. One day, Sarah saw a shiny object. It was a toy from the playground.
"I must get a closer look," Sarah said. With eagerness and quickness, she flew down to the ground to check it out.
She picked up the toy with her beak. It was a small, yellow ball. "This ball is fun!" Sarah thought.
She flew back to her tree. Then she tossed the ball in the air and with boldness caught it again. Sarah was happy with her new toy and felt incredible.
But soon, Sarah heard a noise. She looked down and to her astonishment, saw a boy. Before doing anything, she observed the situation.
The boy was crying. "My ball! My ball is gone!" the boy wailed.
Sarah felt a deep sadness for the boy. "I will give him his ball back," Sarah decided with boldness. With action, she flew down to the boy and dropped the yellowish ball at his feet. She felt a bit of disappointment because she felt an attachment to the ball. But she knew it was the right thing to do.
The boy stopped crying and looked up at Sarah. He hugged his yellowish ball and smiled. "Thank you, hawk," he said. Sarah felt happy.
She flew back to her tree. Later, Sarah's friend, the monkey, came by. "What did you do today?" the monkey asked.
"I helped a boy find his ball," Sarah replied. The monkey looked at her with amazement. "You are very kind, Sarah. You did a responsible and understandable thing. The yellowish ball belonged to the boy and he is much happier because he has it back. You are a great helper." the monkey said with encouragement. They both smiled.
As the sun set, Sarah felt warm and content. She knew she had done a good thing.
