Javier and the Eagle
Javier loved to sit under the big tree in his backyard. One sunny morning, he saw an eagle perched on a branch. At first he thought the eagle was an illusion. But then, the eagle quickly let out a loud high pitched "screech".
Javier admired the eagle. It had dark brown feathers, alert yellowish eyes, and a powerful beak. It was a remarkable creature. "Hello, eagle," Javier said softly, careful not to scare it.
The eagle looked down at Javier, tilting its head. It sat on the branch with boldness, studying him closely.
Javier's sister, Anna, came running over. "Look at that eagle!" she exclaimed with amazement. "I think it is observing us," Javier replied with calmness.
The eagle spread its wings and took off, flying in a graceful motion. It soared high above the backyard, its sharp vision capturing every detail below. Javier and Ana watched in amazement. The eagle flew with such ease. It was incredible!
''I wonder where it is going," Anna thought. "Do you think it has a nest nearby?" Anna asked. "Maybe," Javier said, "I wonder if we can try and find it."
With eagerness, they ventured down the roads in the neighborhood. They stopped and looked above them, making sure they could follow the eagle's flight.
After a while, deep in the forest, they discovered a cozy nest hidden among the branches. There were two newish, fluffy baby eagles inside. "Careful not to disturb them," Anna whispered. Javier nodded in agreement.
Javier replied, "Yes but we should leave them alone. The mommy eagle will be back soon." As they walked back, they saw a television crew setting up nearby.
"What is happening?" Anna asked one of the crew members. "We are filming a nature documentary about the wildlife in this area. It will be a television show," the crew member explained.
"The film will capture all of the nature and wildlife in this area," a film editor said. Javier and Anna were excited. They loved learning about animals.
They watched as the crew captured pictures and film of the eagle and its nest. "Can we help?" Anna asked.
"Sure," the director said. "You can help us observe and take notes. We need a watcher and observer." He handed Javier and Anna a notebook. Javier and Anna spent the day with the crew, learning about the eagle's habits and behaviors.
They felt like investigators and scientists on a mission. They drew pictures of the eagle and watched its every move with astonishment. At the end of the day, they shared their notes with the director. The director thanked them. "Thank you! You two are great helpers," he said.
Javier smiled and Anna exclaimed, "That was so much fun!" As they walked home, Javier and Anna felt proud. They could not wait to share what they learned and observed with their family.
They walked home proudly. Javier and Anna had learned so much about the eagle and its family. They knew they would always remember this special day observing the eagle.
