- ONLY use 1-syllable words.
- Repeat words and vary sentence structure slightly.
- Do not end the story with "the end"
- The sentences should be sensible to a young, learning, easily confused reader.

"Jeff the bull had a small, pink truck."



"The truck got stuck in the mud."



"He gave a honk for help."



"His friend, a skunk, came by."

"The skunk and Jeff had brunch."

Hank got a rope and hooked it to the back of Jeff's pink trunk.

Then, he hooked the end of the rope to his black truck.

Hank got in his black pickup truck. He pulled Jeff's pink truck out of the mud.

Jeff gave a big happy honk from his pink truck.

Jeff said, ''Thanks a bunch for getting my truck out of the mud!'' Hank gave Jeff a wink and a honk.

He was glad to help. Jeff felt glad his pink truck was not in mud.
