The Big Pumpkin

In the leafy, sunny woodland, Cary the turkey woke up feeling happy and chatty.

While out for a walk, she spotted a chunky, orange pumpkin nestled in the bushy grass. “It looks so tasty!” Cary clucked. “I will take it home and bake a pie!”

But when Cary tried to lift the pumpkin, it was too heavy and bumpy. She gave it a tug. Flop! She fell on her fluffy tail.

“This is tricky,” she muttered, now a bit grumpy and sweaty.

She pushed with her beak. She tried to roll it. But it got stuck in the muddy, rocky path. “Ugh!” Cary sighed. “It is just too slippery!”

Then she had a funny, clever idea. “I will roll it down the old twisty trail like a wheel!” she said.

Cary gave the pumpkin a push. It bounced down the path, bumping over grassy, dusty patches and around shady trees.

But soon she lost control. It rolled too far and ended up in the middle of the noisy, busy city!

The pumpkin made a sticky mess and blocked the road. People honked, dogs barked, and a fuzzy, zippy puppy tripped right over it!

Feeling uneasy and a little guilty, Cary yelled, “I am sorry!” and quickly rolled the pumpkin out of the way.

Finally, after a long and bumpy trek, she made it back to her tiny, cozy home.

She washed the dusty, grimy pumpkin and baked a big, yummy pie.

That night, her friends: a silly kitten, a fluffy rabbit, and the zippy puppy came to her comfy little party.

They danced, told funny stories, and ate every crumb of the tasty pie. Cary smiled, feeling lucky, proud, and a little sleepy.
