Lewis the Blue Jay's Oatmeal Adventure
Lewis, the blue jay, had a curfew.
Lewis's mom firmly said, 'You must be home before it gets dark.'
Lewis nodded, then took off to roam the garden.
His goal was to find the tastiest oatmeal for his nephew.
Despite the rules, Lewis loved to play outside until it got dark.
Lewis found a group of quails in the garden, sharing some oatmeal.
'May I have some oatmeal to take home?' Lewis asked, trying to be polite.
Phew, the quails agreed and allowed Lewis to take some oatmeal.
With the oatmeal secured, Lewis continued his adventure in the garden.
His eyes caught the hue of a late afternoon sun, reminding him of his curfew.
Lewis quickly made his way back home, following the familiar trails.
He arrived home just in time, before the sun fully set.
His nephew squealed with joy when he saw the oatmeal.
Lewis felt a sense of pride, glad to rescue the day with his find.
But he also knew he would argue with his mom about the curfew again tomorrow.
Even so, he was happy to be home, safe and sound.
