Sue's Curfew
Sue, the mountain lion, had a curfew set by her family.
Sue did not like this rule, it made her angry.
She wished to continue her playtime with her nephew.
But, the sun was going down in the canyon, and Sue had to return.
One Tuesday, Sue planned to argue against the curfew.
She believed she was old enough to stay out a bit longer.
But, her dad said, "Few mountain lions get to change their curfew, Sue."
"Phew," Sue thought, "this is going to be tougher than I imagined."
Sue decided to rescue her fun time by creating a plan.
She wanted to show her family that she could abide by the rules even if she stayed out longer.
Sue thought a barbeque might win her family over.
Sue knew it was a long shot, but she was willing to give it a try.
The next day, Sue gathered a bunch of cots and a group of her friends.
They helped Sue set up for the barbeque.
Sue's family was surprised but decided to join the fun.
After the barbeque, Sue's family agreed to extend her curfew.
Sue was thrilled and thanked her family.
From then on, Sue could play a little longer with her nephew and friends.
But she always remembered to respect the new curfew.
"Phew," Sue thought, "change is possible if we make a plan and argue politely."
