Zuri's Race
Zuri was the biggest hyena in the savanna.
Zuri was a planner and excitedly planned a race for all the animals.
She mapped out a trail stretching from the dunes to the big old tree.
The hot sun was getting hotter, but the animals could hardly wait.
The day of the race came and Zuri began to feel sad.
Her best friend, Sami, an elephant, could not join because she was sick.
But she clapped her paws together and decided to run the race for both of them.
She hopped onto the starting line, ready to run.
As the race began, Zuri was running at top speed.
Despite the heat getting hotter, she pushed on.
She reached the old tree and was the first one there.
Zuri was the biggest hyena and now was faster than any of the other animals in the race.
The elephant who watched the race from afar, smiled with pride at Zuri.
Zuri, feeling tired but happy, plopped down beside her friend.
She had won the race and made her friend proud.
Despite being the biggest, Zuri realized that she could also be the fastest.
