Tegan's Day

Tegan the dragon lived in a quiet cave.

Each morning, she loved to watch the sunrise. It was the perfect time to reflect and replay the fun she had the day before.

But one morning, as the sun rose, Tegan saw that her cave felt a little dull and messy.

“I think it’s time to remake my home," she said with a smile.

She spent the day moving old rocks and went to replace them with shiny, new rocks. By sunset, Tegan was sleepy but proud of her work.

The next morning, after a good stretch, Tegan decided to revisit a place she loved, the forest. She had not been there in a while and hoped to find something fun to do.

In the forest, she met a sad little frog.

“My lily pad roof broke,” the frog said. “I need to replace and retie all of the leaves, but it is hard to do alone.”

Tegan agreed to help the frog. Together, they cleaned the pond and were able to remake the roof until it looked good as new.

After helping the frog, Tegan flew home.

It was cold in her cave so she preheated the smooth rocks in her cave to make them warm and cozy.

She curled up, ready to relive her good deed and drift into a deep sleep.

The next day, Tegan felt happy again. “I want to reshape my day with more kindness,” she said.

She flew back to the forest to revisit the frog and his roof.

This time, the frog was not alone. His friends were there too!

They welcomed Tegan warmly and asked her to retell her story about fixing up her cave and helping the frog. They wanted to relive and recreate the day.

Tegan smiled as she relived her day and retold her story to the frogs. They replayed the events with Tegan.

When it was time to leave, she said goodbye and promised to return soon.

Tegan loved the forest but she would always prefer the peaceful cave, her home.
