Wrigley's Desert Adventure: A Tale of Courage and Kindness
Wrigley the ostrich knows a trick.
Wrigley can wrap his neck around a cactus without getting hurt.
He gets a kick out of surprising his desert pals.
One morning, Wrigley found a lamb stuck in the sand.
He knew he had to help, but his neck was not long enough.
He needed to climb a nearby rock to reach the lamb.
With a firm grip on the lamb, Wrigley wriggled free.
The lamb was safe but Wrigley's hat fell off and landed on a knob of a cactus.
Wrigley had to knock the hat off with a stone.
Wrigley felt a twinge in his wrist from throwing the stone.
But he was glad the lamb was safe and his hat was back in place.
Wrigley returned to his pals, who clapped and cheered for him.
That night, Wrigley knelt by his bed and thanked the stars for helping him.
He knew that helping others was the best knack he could have.
And he fell asleep, dreaming of the next adventure.
