Roy's Routine

Roy, the groundhog, lived underground under a town.

From his house, he could hear the loud sound of the town above ground.

Every morning, Roy would go outside and greet the sunrise with a howl.

Then he would mow the grass close to his home and head back underground.

Roy had a habit that he liked to follow without fail.

He would wake up, howl at the sunrise, mow the grass, and then go back underground to eat breakfast.

Every Sunday, he would take a trip downtown to get food for the week.

He enjoyed the loud noises from the crowd, and always found something odd to pick up.

One Sunday, Roy saw a strange glow coming from an alley.

He followed the glow and found an old textbook on the ground.

Roy took the book home, interested about what it could be.

He spent the rest of the day reading and did not mow the grass.

The next morning, Roy woke up and was surprised by the sight of wildflowers growing where he usually mowed.

He realized that sometimes, it's okay to break routine and do something different.

From that day on, Roy chose to let the wildflowers grow around his house.

Every Sunday, instead of going downtown, he would sit outside and read his book amidst the flowers.
