Nearby, her friend Ross the bird perched on a small tree. "Kaya," Ross chirped, "that's a unicycle! People use it to ride on one wheel."

Kaya looked at the unicycle with wide eyes. "Can I ride it?" she asked eagerly.

Ross flapped his wings. "It might be tough, Kaya. You have four legs, and the unicycle has just one wheel."

Kaya was determined to try. She gently touched the unicycle with her trunk. "I want to give it a go," she said.

Ross nodded. "Alright, but be careful!"

Kaya, with Ross's help, tried to balance on the unicycle. She struggled at first, her feet slipping on the grass. "This is harder than it looks," she admitted.

Ross offered a suggestion. "Try moving slowly, Kaya. Like when you walk on the soft grass."

Kaya took a deep breath and tried again. This time, she moved her legs skillfully and found her balance. "I'm doing it, Ross!" she trumpeted joyfully.

Ross cheered, "Hooray! You're a natural, Kaya!"

The tree was drooping and the roots were loose. "We must act fast," Kim said. Lee held the tree steady. Kim tightened the roots with a smooth rope. "Almost done," she said, pulling with all her might.

"Whoo! We did it!" Lee cheered as the tree stood tall. The forest was safe again. "Thanks, Kim," Lee said with a happy grin. "Anytime, Lee," Kim replied, patting his hoof. They both looked up at the moon, blooming in the sky.

Fall Friends

Pat the lemur sat on a branch. "Look at me!" said Pat. The branch was high. Pat felt happy.

A bird flew by. "Hello, Pat!" chirped the bird. Pat waved. "Let's play!" Pat said.

The bird and Pat played tag. They darted and twirled. Pat was fast. The bird was faster.

"Let's rest," Pat said. They sat on the branch. The branch was strong and wide.

"Do you like to fly?" Pat asked. The bird nodded. "I love to fly high."

Pat smiled. "I like to climb," Pat said. "The view is grand up here."

The sun set. The sky turned redder and softer. "Time to go home," the bird said.

Pat waved goodbye. "See you soon!" Pat called. Pat felt happy and calm on the branch.

Jet and the Cap

Pat was a boy. He had a dog. They went for a walk. Pat saw a big stone. The stone was by a tree. "Look at this stone!" said Pat. The dog wagged his tail. He likes walks with Pat. Pat and the dog went home. They had fun.
